阿媽剛落機便到黃大仙美味齋上海菜館吃晚飯。紐約親友每每乘搭聯合航空晚機回港後，都會錯過了晚飯時間，唯獨美味齋營業至凌晨三時，三哥打趣地說，美味齋成了我們到埗後必到都食堂。

每年重陽節前，各圍村都忙於煮盆菜。我住在圍村超過十年，吃最多是上水盆菜，也吃過錦田元朗的盆菜，大致上差不多。是年的大圍盆菜宴，用鹽水鴨、粉絲和蝦做的盆菜，跟北區人以豬肉為主的盆菜不同。
