六十年一屆的上水太平清醮，一生人只有見到一次，長壽的可以參與兩次。一連三天的慶典，包括石湖墟巡遊、唱大戲、鬼王巡遊、千人盤菜等等。

每年重陽節前，各圍村都忙於煮盆菜。我住在圍村超過十年，吃最多是上水盆菜，也吃過錦田元朗的盆菜，大致上差不多。是年的大圍盆菜宴，用鹽水鴨、粉絲和蝦做的盆菜，跟北區人以豬肉為主的盆菜不同。
