文哥到埗當日，到了香港大學舊生會晚膳，剛巧遇上同事在鄰桌飯聚。

光哥回港渡假，八月廿三日在家吃飯，有魚翅。八月三十日，帶一家三口遊車河，到過麥奀、蓮香、山頂，最後在深井傅記吃燒鵝。
天氣轉涼，又去谷埔食野同買蜜糖。
跟圖書館同事到東莞一遊，去過虎門炮台等地方
這次美國之行早在一年前已經籌備，日蝕時間為八月尾，機位必然非常緊張。除了日蝕，其餘在美的時間則在逛大都會博物館，本來希望看完整個博物館，但極其量也只是看了一半。
